Job Description:
This job is responsible for processing First Mortgage loans approved by an Underwriter. Key responsibilities include utilizing automated underwriting systems and decisions, approving conditions within entry level credit authority, and completing final loan approval prior to closing. Job expectations include maintaining a high level of customer service with internal and external partners and proactively resolving transactional issues. This position may be responsible for the provision of residential mortgage loans, and as such, is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Pursuant to the SAFE Act requirements, all employees engaged in residential mortgage loan originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Since this position requires SAFE Act registration, employees are required to register and to submit to the required SAFE Act background check. Failure to obtain and/or maintain SAFE Act registration may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains a high level of customer service
- Manages a pipeline of approved loan applications
- Manages and prioritizes tasks in preparation for closing within Service Level Agreements
- Validates Automated Underwriting System input and results
- Clears conditions and completes the final loan approval
- Calculates wage earner income and assets
- Analyzes collateral documentation to ensure adherence to guidelines
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year processing experience
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of conventional and/or government guidelines
- Knowledge of processing underwriting and/or closing procedures/federal lending regulations governing real estate lending
- Ability to manage a heavy pipeline of 50 plus loans
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to use telephone communication skills with customers
- Teamwork and customer service skills a must
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work extended hour during heavy workload periods
- Computer proficiency including high comfort level with Microsoft Office product suite
